is the eighth Pastor of the Cornerstone Seventh-day Adventist Church,
in the East New York section of Brooklyn, New York.
Pastor Courtney Goulding was born on the island of Jamaica, W.I. He is the first of six children born to Oswald and Pearl Goulding. He is the product of Adventist Christian education having attended the Race Course SDA Elementary School; May Pen High School; and West Indies College (now Northern Caribbean University) graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Theology (1980). In 1986 he attended the SDA Theological Seminary at Andrews University, graduating in 1988 with a Masters in Divinity degree. He is also a graduate of Drew University (2005), with a Doctor of Ministry degree with an emphasis in Pastoral Care and Counseling. He has completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education(CPE) at the Morristown Medical Center (2021) and is currently preparing for board certification.
Pastor Goulding has 42 years of ministry experience. He has served as a pastor in the Central Jamaica Conference from 1980-1984, in the parishes of Manchester, St. Catherine and St. Mary. After migrating to the United States in 1984 he worked with New York City Department of Finance as a tax assessor, and with Adult Protective Services as a caseworker. He has also worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor for five and a half years at the St Jude Opioid Treatment Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. He has served on the Pastoral staff of the Kingsboro Temple SDA Church, Brooklyn NY (1991- 1993) and was the founding pastor of the Immanuel Tabernacle SDA Church in Brooklyn N.Y. In 1995, he was called to serve as a full-time pastor in the Northeastern Conference of SDA. He pastored the Spring Valley SDA and Newburgh SDA churches (1995-2000); the Riverdale Ave SDA church in Yonkers NY (2001-2004); the Sharon SDA Church, Bronx NY (2005-2011); the City Tabernacle SDA Church in Harlem NY (2012- 2019; and the Light House Tabernacle SDA Church in Brooklyn NY (2019- 2021). Wherever he has served, the congregations have experienced physical, financial and spiritual growth. As a result of his leadership, many souls have been won to Christ, the physical plant was improved, and the congregation was left financially stable. He is married and is the father of two adult sons.
Pastor Goulding priority in ministry is God first, family second and ministry third. His life verse for ministry is 1 Cor. 9:27: “I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should, otherwise, I fear after preaching to others, I myself might be disqualified.”
